I enjoyed reading through your vast information on saxophones. I learned more that I really expected to find. But then I'm a firm believer in the Internet as the best resource for information both esoteric and common. I hope you don't mind and have a little time to address my questions. I have a tenor that I would like to know a little about. The bell is engraved with a "Buffet Crampon & Cie" logo and engraved with Evette & Schaeffer, 18 & 20 passage du gran Cerf (?) Paris. The serial number is 14763. It also has "Carl Fischer New York" Beyond that there are no other engravings or numbers on the bell and no pearl. I have enclosed several photos of the instrument. There are only a few minor dents at the large curve of the bell. Most of the copper is still clear. There is some varnish wear at the left and right hand thumb rests and keys. Can you tell me anything about it or its general value? I plan to get it refurbished. Can you tell me what I might expect to pay to have that done. Thanks for you help and good luck with your work.
