Default Found silver Gold Medal Alto.

I'm very happy to have found a silver Gold Medal Alto.
What a firm sound with beautiful harmonics.
Now i have to find a decent mouthpiece for it.
Using a Selmer C* at the moment. Gives a dark sound
but i like it more focused and with more "cut".
Has anyone a clue?

Have a look at the following link. If you want more picures
let me know. Many thanks to the SML communitee on this forum
wich led me to this great horn.

Congratulations with your alto it looks great.

Are you the lucky guy who snatched one away under my nose for 350 Euros in Nieuwegein Netherlands. if not i am curious where and for how much you got it.

I own several SML's and on my alto i use a slant signature hard rubber link 6*. I've tried several mouthpieces but this seems to work best for me.

Rob,

Nice to see you're from the NTHRLNDS and having a couple of SML horns.
No i wasn't that guy. (HELAAS!!!) I've payd 750 EURO for this completely
refitted SML. It plays so good! It plays better than my Selmer BA Alto.
Great action and intonation, firm sound and i'm now working on a good
sound now. That is why i'm interested in mouthpieces for this alto.

Greetings

Frank

Congratulations indeed. This horn looks awesome.
There seem to be a lot of SML's around in the Netherlands. I bought my Silver GMII Alto there about a year ago. I paid 650 Euros plus a full repad job. It's worth every cent!

I don't hunt for them, i just stumble on to them from time to time.

Soprano, coming soon from my tech
Alto, marching band write off
Tenor, someone who wanted to trade for bundle of cash 8)
Bari, at a 50's music fair

I've come across several horns i did not buy, replated ones, bashed ones, and much to expensive ones. in the last few months ive seen, a soprano, 2 alto's and a tenor. ( i bought the sop)
