Conn Portrait Hand Engraved Chu Berry Alto Saxophone 95% Original Burnished Gold Plate SN 237792
This a late Chu Berry vintage Portrait model burnished gold plated alto saxophone, serial nubmer 237792. It is a gorgeous saxophone with 95% of the original gold still intact. The engraving is exquisite floral style with a vintage flapper lady. This saxophone has rolled toneholes, file G# key and the original Conn tuner neck.
The pads are all new with brown plastic resonators. Everything is sealing tight and is very mechanically solid. The action feels light and quick.
The physical condition is excellent. There are NO dents and NO signs of any previous dentwork. The neckstrap hook and low D ventkey guard have been resoldered. These are the only resoldered joints on this alto. The only plating wear is found closely around the toneholes and the resoldered joints.
This saxophone has a wonderfully rich tone that has great presence and projection. It is beautiful both physically and sonically and comes in its orginal Conn case which is in good overall condition.
