KOHLERTA SYNOVE KRASLICE: This is an early model alto, in good condition overall. The Silver plate finish looks very nice and is about 70% intact. It has the trademark Keilwerth style rolled toneholes and a very interesting mix of other features... the B & Bb keys are sameside and on the outside of the bell, like a selmer, but the g# cluster is shaped a lot like a Conn, with a large pearl on the 6M shaped G# key itself, which does have the trill key by F & F#. Modern keywork including a Front F key, but it also has the forked Eb/f speaker key on the back. 6m style bell brace and Selmer style keyguards that have V K S cleverly worked into the design. It also has a high C to D trill key down by the side keys. It is marked : V. KOHLERTA SYNOVE KRASLICE C.S.R, #285575 A880 (low pitch) This may be a Julius Keilwerth design as it bears the markings of when he worked for Kohlert . Here is an excerpt from the Keilwerth History website: "Julius Keilwerth (1894_1962), the founder of the Keilwerth saxophone company, served his apprenticeship at Franz Than from 1908 to 1912, and spent time studying his art in Leipzig, Zurich, and St. Gallen. In 1914 he worked at V.F. Kohlert & Sons, who had started saxophone production already in 1900."
